Day 84

Well it's official my laptop is dead. :( I'm grieved. We've been together for 5 years and I was looking forward to at least a year more but it was not to be. She's gone and I'm so lost without her. I'm limping along with the help of my honey's laptop and those in the computer lab at the college. I'm grateful that I have these alternatives but they're not the same as having my own.

I hadn't budgeted for a new computer this year, but as luck would have it, I'm getting a nice tax return this year which I can put towards purchasing one. I'm thinking of getting this Mac Book Air, Mac's latest ultra cooool, ultra sleek, ultra thin portable. Yummy!!! We'll see ....

  1. I was feeling your pain after Christmas... nearly a month without a funtioning computer just about drove me mad. Thank goodness for work computers and father's who miss your writing so much that they buy you one. It's not a laptop, but I am thrilled to have it!

When do you guys do your taxes? And when do you expect your refunds? Here, they're due April 15th and you can get your refunds really fast if you file online.

  3. Sayre - I remember when your were off-line as well. It is horrid isn't it, it loose a relied upon instrument of communication. The tax year runs from around 5th April to 4th April. I think you need to get the paper return in by September, but if you file on-line, the deadline is year's end. I do hope the refund comes soon. :)

Lyn, as a fellow mac owner, I know you understand the love and the loss.
