Day 87

I am not much of a socialiser, preferring to stay at home and read a good book than go out. I've always loved reading particularly literary fiction, but find that over the past years I have been reading less and less of it and more and more socio-political and work-related books. This year I am determined to redress the imbalance and have made it a goal this year to read at least one non-work related book a week. So today, I spent the day lying on the sofa reading. Finished one book and got half way through another. Pure bliss.

  1. An excellent goal! Back when I smoked, I would read four books a week easily. Now it takes me a week to get through one. I love fiction - I love the stories that people spin straight out of their brains. My own is so full of weird stuff that it was inevitable that eventually some of it would wind up on paper...

  2. I used to read tons of fiction, and somewhere during college or in grad school I stopped reading fiction completely and just read non-fiction. I have been trying to read fiction since last year, but have not read much.

  3. I recently finished Animal Vegetable Miracle, and now it's one of my favorite books EVUH. Highly recommend it.
